Greetings from Cold, Rainy Georgia,
Well, it is a perfect day to play in the studio as the weather is awful. (good excuse to put off housework!) Here is one of my newest pieces I am calling Black Widow. Lots of texture to this one.
And for those of you new to blogspot, scroll to older posts to be able to double click on the image and make it full size.
Hope everyone stays warm and safe. Peace........

Just gotta keep sharing my Simple Man Cruise 2010 pictures. The guys in this photo are from two of my very favorite bands, Molly Hatchet and Swampdawamp. Talk about a bunch of characters! Hell Yea!!!!!!! Phil McCormack rules! (thanks for the call!)
Anyway, all you Southern Rock fans need to check out the new kids on the block, Swampdawamp. Talent up the wazoooooooo! And Molly Hatchet goes without saying....consistently entertaining down home Southern style music you can listen to every day of your life.
Check back soon for more photos. Peace to all....xoxoxo

Simple Man Cruise

All right all you Southern Rock freaks, check this picture out. When would this happen? Let's see if you can figure out who you are looking at. As one of these guys said, "This has never happened before!"
We had a blast. So many thanks to all the wonderful band members we met who took the time to visit, give autographs, pictures and just plain be friendly. It was so nice to actually talk to these guys and realize, hey they are great people! Long live Southern Rock! xoxoxo
p.s. I posted a new link straight back to my facebook encaustic works. While you are there, check out my other stuff and my son, Jesse's wonderful grafitti art. Peace

One thing about wax, it is fickle....meaning that if you get the perfect spot laid down and accidentally hit it with the heat of the iron again, it is gone. This is one medium where patience and a steady hand is totally a virtue! Enjoy!

More encaustic work, this one painted on a matt board which allowed more texture.
I wish I could take sideways shots so you could see the wax levels.

Wax is an incredible medium as long as you watch your fingers!! It is HOT!

Starship Gallery

Seems I have so neglected my blog so here are some of my latest encaustic pieces. I am so enamored with this medium! For those of you unfamiliar, it is painting with molten wax using an iron. The iron looks like a small travel iron....no brushes, pens, pencils, etc., just the iron and my imagination.

Fred says I am really twisted. I am taking that as a compliment. LOL

Peace and a prosperous happy new year to all.
